Hi! I'm Hope, a 4th year medical student at the University of Oxford. Although I've landed up at a very competitive university, I went through phases of school where I fell behind, at points quite drastically, and had to catch up to get the grades I needed. That is to say, I get it — I was in your situation a few years ago and I had my own dreams of university that I was worried I might not reach. I fortunately learnt to be very self-sufficient with my study to end up receiving 9 grade A*s at GCSE and the A Levels I needed for Oxford.
About my sessions: I like to begin structuring your lessons around your weak areas. If you're not sure what they are, I will send you a mock exam so we can determine where you need help before we begin. In my lessons I like to use the whiteboard to visually display what we are talking about. I will outline key concepts and demonstrate how I would work through a question before allowing you to have a go yourself. Usually I like to build up to an exam-style question towards the end of the session to round things off.
Every Elevare tutor is hand-picked from the UK's leading universities. Candidates pass our subject-knowledge screen, a teaching demo, and a structured interview assessing communication and tutoring approach before they ever meet a student.
